Novi Sad has proven to be the Youth Capital, unofficially holds the title of the capital of good entertainment, and is preparing to officially become a worthy capital of culture. In the meantime, it will attempt to be the center of European mountain biking.
Vojvodina will host 500 participants from 44 countries at the European Mountain Bike Championship. Instead of forests, cliffs and inaccessible landscapes, the trail will lead competitors over the walls of a medieval fortress, through underground tunnels and right next to visitors. This time the ride will not be outside the city, but above it. The idea is to let the view from Petrovaradin Fortress present Novi Sad to the visitors as the city with a rich cultural and historical heritage and to provide athletes with an adrenaline ride at the same time.
The championship will be held from 12th to 15th August and an accompanying program is in preparation to make the summer in Novi Sad memorable for great sports and entertainment.
The championship is organized by the Cycling Federation of Serbia, Vojvodina Association of Cycling Clubs and Novi Sad Cycling Club. Live broadcast of the race will be streamed on Eurosport.
