Did you know that right at the entrance of the town of Aranđelovac one can see where the Ice Age humans lived? This is one of the famous places in Europe dating back to the Paleolithic period. Different fossils were discovered here by archaeologists such as the remains of a mammoth, cave bear, ancient lion, rhinoceros, buffalo, and other Paleolithic animals.

Try to revive the ancient species of bear in your mind after seeing its skeleton. Mail specimen was up to 3.5 meters tall and weighed the whole ton. Even though huge, this bear was found to be herbivore.

Also, halls will mesmerize you with cave "corrals" of all colors and lovely decorations.

This is where the so-called Risovača Caveman lived, a strong Neanderthal who was 1.70 meters tall. He had a small forehead, massive jaws, and the same size of brain as a modern man.

Come and see all this within the National Museum of Aranđelovac, only 70 kilometers from the capital!
