Holidays without obstacles

In order to experience art, some of us have to touch it.

That is why cultural contents are available to blind and partially sighted people only if they are adapted to them. In accordance with the ambition to encourage and promote destinations that adapt the offer to tourists with disabilities, the National Tourist Organization of Serbia reminded of the importance of inclusive tourism at the recently concluded Tourism Fair in Belgrade.

At the NTOS stand, the visitors of the Fair could get acquainted with the exhibits of the National Museum in Leskovac and the National Museum in Požarevac, which are part of the tactile exhibition, i.e. intended for the blind. For a long time now, these institutions have had special exhibitions everyone can enjoy, regardless of their impairment. These works of art are 3D and relief  technology replicas of museum exhibits represented in a completely new spirit.

The Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired representatives, who were also guests of the Fair, believe that the offer for those who can only experience art through touch shold be more diverse. The NTOS and the Association agreed that to join efforts to enrich that offer.

The intention of the Tourist Organization of Serbia is to recognize tourism as a field that belongs to everyone and that should enable everyone to enjoy their travels.
