Belgrade: Official opening of the tourist – nautical season 2014

The first river boat „VIKING AEGIR“ will sail in International passenger dock „Luka Beograd” on Thursday, 20th of March, with 180 tourists from USA, England, Canada, which will officially open the nautical-tourist season 2014 in Belgrade.

Travellers will visit Belgrade under the seven-days tour “Doors of eastern Europe”, organized by the reputable and the largest European tour operator VIKING RIVER CRUISE.

Students of the Torism Highshool „Novi Beograd“ will welcome the gusets around noon with serbian national costumes, who will serve traditional Serbian bread and rakia. Tourist Organization of Belgrade has prepared gift packages for guests, while the folklore group Talija will performe national dances.

By the official announcement for this year, 580 boats and more than 70.000 tourists will visit Belgrade by river cruises. Last year’s season was the most visited so far, with 510 boats and 64.000 tourists, making Belgrade an attractive destination on the Danube.

Danube cruising is attractive for visitors from Canada, USA, Germany, Great Britain, Austria, France, Italy and Scandinavia. During their stay, they are visiting most important historical, cultural localities with the most popular: Belgrade fortress, St. Sava temple, Museum 25th of May, Knez Mihajlo Street, Ada Bridge and other sites.

In order to provide necessary information, tourist info center will be available at the Sava Marine, along with the exchange office, ATM and store of souvenirs, food and refreshments, traditional items and authentic national costumes at the International passenger dock ‘‘Luka Beograd’’

During the tourist season, tourists and citizens will have an opportunity to attend numerous events at the Sava Marine, Belgrade Boat Carnival, Belgrade Latino Marathon, Danube days, and Fish Fest.
