The seventh Cinema City festival

Cinema City International Film Festival takes pl Novi Sad. This weekend awaits you with a special blend of music and film. Music warm-up starts at 21h, under the open sky of Amstel Open Air. Entrance is free for all. Incidentally, the zero day of the Cinema City festival is World Music Day, and it is only appropriate to mark this day with a unique concert Images from films.

The concert in question is a spectacular choir performance of some of the greatest sounds from the national cinema. Those thirty fantastic girls from Collegium Musicum choir will present some of the most popular music pieces signed by our legendary author of film music, Zoran Simjanović. If you are nostalgic for the times long gone, or grew up with these familiar sounds, then tonight’s concert is just the thing for you. Special Education, National Class, When Father Was Away on Business, Tito and I, The Marathon Family, Petria’s Wreath, and many other films will be presented through their most iconic tunes, which will have charming new arrangements signed by no other than the man himself, especially adapted to this unique music event.

The concert will be followed by the screening of our legendary film classic National Class Category Up to 785 ccm, directed by Goran Marković. This film is our national treasure, and for many of us this will be a unique opportunity to see it on big screen.

On Sunday, June 22, the seventh edition of the Cinema City festival was officially open with the domestic premiere of Mina Đukić’s debut feature The Disobedient. Following the success of this authentic piece of filmmaking at some of the most significant international festivals of independent film, such as Sundance and Rotterdam IFF, the domestic audience finally got the chance to see The Disobedient at the opening of the festival, on Saturday.
